Protest Against Toxic Emissions

Historic Gathering in Dordrecht

On Saturday, January 18, 2025, a significant group of 'protestants' gathers for the 250th time outside the gates of Chemours in Dordrecht to demonstrate against the longstanding toxic and carcinogenic PFAS emissions from the company.

Origins of the Protest

It all began in 2016 in Sliedrecht, the epicenter of PFAS pollution near Chemours, where residents noticed a high incidence of cancer. Bram de Winter and Kees van der Hel founded the 'Health Above All' Action Group in October 2016, leading to the first massive protest march against Chemours in November of the same year.

Continued Advocacy

Despite challenges and setbacks, the weekly protests gained momentum, drawing attention from local and international media. The relentless efforts led to the formation of the Stop PFAS Stop Chemours foundation to escalate legal actions against the responsible parties.
